The Journey

The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC is regarded as the World’s Greatest Springtime Celebration, hosting more than 1.5 million attendees each year. In 2023, Dana brought New Jersey Travel and Tourism to this event to launch an immersive brand activation aimed at introducing outer markets to all things great in the Garden State. Marketing and promotional efforts bloomed at and around two key events: The Blossom Kite Festival on March 25, 2023 and Petalpalooza on April 8, 2023.

The Destination

At any time, at least a dozen participants could be seen adding artistic touches to the 24-foot long coloring wall, taking snaps in front of NJ surf backdrops and collecting free swag. Multiple efforts were focused pre-, during and post-event. Wrapped cars spread NJ’s brand message over a four-week period. Digital truck displays, bicycle roller boards, wrapped water taxis, wrapped buses and bus shelters all boasted Greetings from New Jersey. Based on successful results and the positive response from the crowd, New Jersey plans to hit the road again very soon.
